Six Children’s Taekwondo Sports Clubs to Open in Kazakhstan

TaekwondoSix free children’s taekwondo sports clubs are expected to open in Kazakhstan’s largest regions.

The Taekwondo Federation of Kazakhstan management will provide children at the sports centres with equipment, trained instructors, medical professionals and sports infrastructure.

The first of the six clubs has already opened in Astana. The club is called Mustafa – Astana in honour of Mustafa Ozturk, a six-time world champion, holder of the seventh dan and founder of the Kazakh and Turkish taekwondo schools.

Mustafa – Astana is located in the building of the national racetrack Sary-Arka and occupies more than 500 square metres. It is expected that the club will train the most promising young athletes who will become the backbone of the national taekwondo team of Kazakhstan.

According to the federation, in the near future, five more clubs will be established in the east, south, west and north of the country.
